Pagoda Boat Romance

Well using my prior thumb nails I did a little rearranging of the elements that I came up with inside photoshop. I think the landscape version is the one I like the best. Right now everything is just purely placement. There are two stories that I am trying to tell in this illustration. The first is of a world of boats, where life is on the boats, and it all creates a unique atmosphere. The second is a tail of romance and scandal. The fore ground figures are most likely going to be reacting to the middle ground characters but for now I am just looking for placement.

Mickey's Escape

My Mickey Comic Strip is finally done now all I have to do is print it out. I might touch it up later before I do that though just so I smooth everything out but I think I am good now.

Some Thumbnail Comps

Well for my forth illustration project, it was suggest that we start thinking of what we wanted to do. One of the options was to take a real good sketch or idea out of our sketchbooks that could be made into a really great composition. So I have started working on some loose thumbnail comps based on my Pagoda Boat sketch which keeps grabbing my attention.

This is the original Pagoda Boat idea that I came up with a couple of weeks ago. I really like the concept of it and I have been itching to do a comp based on it in someway or form.

Here are the thumb comps that I have done so far but I am unsure which I want to do as I like most of them. I really hate it when I have to make up my mind about stuff like this.

A Comic Breakdown

Gag Break Down for my Mickey Three Panel Comic Strip.

Mickey is trapped in some kind of box or cell!

Mickey Takes off one of his ears and throws it up against one of the walls of the cell.

Mickey Crawls through his ear that is on the wall which is now a hole in the wall. In addition this would be a Popout of the Frame of the Comic Strip frame.

Some more Eye fun

Since we were allowed to use the 3D program of our choice if we had it I decided to do my 3D eye in Maya as it has been awhile since I did any work inside of Maya. It is kind of funny because I recently had acquired the 2010 Maya and had not time to play with it. There appears to be some neat stuff in it since the last time I used it. For instance there are now muscle effects. Hope I will have time to learn it.

Here is the close up shot of my own eye that we were suppose to do. Rather easy assignment especially since I have a decent camera. So it is always a joy when I can take advantage of it.

Decided to play with the photo shot a little bit in Photoshop and give myself green eyes. However me being me I wondered what I would look like with an unnatural green eye. I like it : )

Gear Head

Well this is my second project for my digital illustration class. I liked how it came out but I think I can do a little more fussing with it. Just feels like I could do a little more but at the same time I don't want to over work the image.

Order and Chaos Eye

My Pattern Eyes. I used a pattern that was a combo of order and chaos so it is about balance. I also turned this eye into a symbol so that I could stamp the eye without the pattern shifting.

Learning to Draw Mickey

Trying to draw in someone else's style is not easy and takes some practice but I think I have what it takes. I think I need to work on drawing Mickey a little more so that I can draw him implicitly.
